History and Origin
Siberian husky is a medium size dog with thick furry-densed coat belongs to the Spitz family. They are commonly seen in movies as sled dogs and are famous for their cold endurance, stamina and tight bonded with their owner. Originated from Eastern Siberia breed by the Chukchi, it was imported to Alaska during the Nome Gold Rush in the late 1890s.

Temperament
Siberian Husky is a very intelligient dog with the mind of its own, they are pack animals which strive best with human companions if they are accepted into their home as a one of the pack members. They are friendly dogs and donÍt bark a lot, however the ïyowlÍ could be quite anoying to neighbours, this can be prevented through early training. With their friendly temperament towards anyone, they are not suitable as watchdog and guarddog. This breed is fairly stubborn and hard to train, it is important to extablish yourself as the head of the pack very early so training will be much easier.
Description (Appearance)
Siberian husky is medium sized, agile looking and graceful in action. Either sex, it should give the appearance of being capable of great endurance. It should always look keen but friendly, or even mischieveous. The coat is thick with wolly undercoat and soft outer coat. All colors are acceptable from white to black. Husky is one of the dog breed with stuning blue eyes.
Size
Height--Dogs, 21 to 23.5 inches. Bitches, 20 to 22 inches at the withers.
Weight--Dogs, 45 to 60 pounds. Bitches, 35 to 50 pounds.
Living Conditions
Siberian Husky prefer to stay close to with their human companions, however, they can remain to sleep outside over the nights with proper shelther. Siberian Husky is originated from the nortern hemisphere with thick coat, thus cooler environment is very important for this breed.
Exercise demand
This breed does not need a lot of exercise but daily long walk and occasional frantic exercise is mandatory.
Health problems
This breed is generally hardy. Health issues are genetic defects of the eyes such as juvenile cataracts and corneal dystrophy. Hip dysplasia is fairly low in this breed.

Grooming
Siberian Husky by nature is a very clean dog which free from body odor and parasites. Bathing for this dog is minimal as mostly it will clean/lick itself whenever neccesary from dirt on its coat.
Siberian Husky is relatively shred free except during shedding period twice a year. They shed their undercoat completely; this intense shedding might last 3-4 weeks. Little grooming is required, unless during shedding session.
Special Concern
Siberian Husky still maintain their howling instinct from its wolf ancestry. This might be quite annoying to neighbours, thus early training is required to avoid this.
