History and Origin
There are several theories of Chihuahua's history.
Some said that it was found in Egypt 3000 years ago, and some said that Chihuahua is started from China and later brought to New World by Spanish traders.
Another version of theory said that Chihuahuas originated from South America nd were involved in a religious ceremony.
It was believed that this small dog can lead the death to the underground.
So this small dog will be scarified and buried with each of dead human.
The above theories are the beginning of Chihuahua's histories, but the pure origin of Chihuahua is unknown.
However, Chihuahua is discovered in Chihuahua, Mexico in 1850 by American tourists and later brought back to their state. This small dog is named Chihuahua, the place where they discovered them.

Temperament
Chihuahuas are prized for its unique temperament and personality.
They are curious, alert in nature, intelligent, learn thing fast and have terrier-like qualities.
Chihuahuas are loyal and very attached to their owners.
These also make them easily to get jealous if more attention and care are given to the owners' children or other pets.
Chihuahuas are not suitable to be the pets for small children because of its jealous attitude and also have tendency to bite if frightened.
Chihuahua tend to be bark excessively and noisy to strangers.
Should be socialized since young age to avoid excessive aggressiveness with other pets and strangers.
Generally, Chihuahuas are intelligent and can learn thing fast but are noisy and difficult to housebreak.
Description (Appearance)
Chihuahua is the smallest dog breed in the world.
It has an apple-shaped head with a short-pointed muzzle.
It has large erect ears and its tail is in sickle-shaped and curled over the back or to the side.
The eyes of Chihuahua is round, big and always very dark in color.
The body of Chihuahua is slighly longer than its height and is off-square.
Any color, solid, marked or splashed is accepted for Chihuahua.
There are 2 types of coat for Chihuahua: Smooth coat(short haired) and Long coat.
The smooth coat is always glossy, soft and close.
The long coat is soft and can be either flat or slight curly and with undercoat is preffered.
Any Chihuahua with over 6 pounds in weight is disqualified.

Height: 6 - 9 inches (15 - 23cm)
Weight: 2 - 12 pounds (1 - 6 kg)
Living Conditions
Chihuahua is an indoor dog and because of its small size, it is able to adapt to variety environment such as apartments, city.
Chihuahua are not suitable to live under cold temperatures.
Owner of Chihuahua is advised to pretect Chihuahua during weather such as wrap a warm sweater around it.
Exercise demand
Chihuahuas are active and playful.
Daily walk is needed for Chihuahuas. Dogs who lack of daily walks can lead to behavior problems.
Health problems
Because of its short nose, Chihuahua is tends to snore or wheeze.
The big and prominenet eyes are prone to eyes disease such as dryness of Cornea and secondary glaucoma.
Chihuahuas prone neurological disorders such as epilepsy and seizure.
Besides, Chihuahuas also prone Hydrocephalus and Hypoglycemia or low blood sugar.
Most Chihuahuas have a Molera, a soft spot in their skulls(unclosed section on the skull) which can cause them prone to injury.
Life Expectancy
About 15 or more years.
Grooming
Chihuahuas with short-haired coat needs occasional brushing or wiped over with a damp cloth.
Chihuahuas with long-haired coat needs daily brushing to keep their coats in good condition.
They should be bath about once per month and prevent the ears from get in water.
Special Concern
Owners should take concern on Chihuahua's head which has Molera to prevent it from getting severe injury. A thrash on Chihuahua's head may kill it.
