Common Dog Skin Disease - Cheyletiella Mange
Information, Signs, Symtoms and Treatment


Cheyletiella Mange (Walking Dandruff) is caused by Cheyletiella yasguri mite. This mite is a parasite mite which lives on hosts. They are usually short-lived and die within 48 hours off the hosts, but the adult female mites may maintained up to 10 days off the hosts.

The signs and symptoms of Cheyletiella Mange:

- White flakes or dandruff can be seen on the head, neck and along the back.
- Slightly or moderately itchy (pruritus).

Treatment for Cheyletiella Mange:

(1) Use medicated or mild organic shampoo

- Cheyletiella Mange is a least serious skin disease which caused itchy and dandruff on the skin.
- Bath the dog with mediacated or mild organic shampoo is enough to cure this skin disease.
