 Dog Breed Behavior - Leash Pulling
It is always a trouble to walk by the dog instead of walk the dog. Dogs are interested to the outside world and tend to have their own mind where they want to go especially when the found something interesting. We need to train our dog to walk by us in a loose leash matter; leash pulling will be dangerous not only to you but also the dog.
Prepare yourself a normal leash about 10 feet and a lot of tibits your dog loves. Bring your dog to a less distraction place for the training. Less distraction helps your dog to concertrate more on what you are going to tell him to do. Lease your dog and bring your dog for a walk just like normal. When the dog starts to walk away to a direction, you walk the opposite way, pull him to the way you want him to go and donŐt look at him when you do it. When you feel that the leash is loose and he is following you, walk to him and give him the tipbits and praise them. Do this a few times and maybe a few days, let him understand that you get good rewards by following where you want to go. Your dog will understand it eventually.
